BLACKPINK Voted No.1 Girl Group By TMI News

The topic of today’s (Nov. 6) episode of Mnet’t TMI News was top seven girl groups that promote (bring fame to) Korea, and our Blackpink girls were voted no.1!

One big proof of Blackpink’s reach are their impressive YouTube track record. The girls have twice broken the record for most-viewed video in 24 hours – with “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love”, “BOOMBAYAH” is the first debut video to reach 700 million views, and soon “DDU-DU DDU-DU” will become the first K-pop Group MV to reach one billion views.

Just 14 days after their debut in 2016, the girls won first place on Inkigayo, which was a girl group record at that time.

Additionally, the girls’ international popularity is off the charts – they’ve had an amazingly popular collaboration with Dua Lipa, their “In Your Area” tour was incredibly successful, and they were the first K-pop girl group to be a part of the main lineup for this years’ Coachella.

We’re sure the girls will amaze us with new outstanding records once they finally get another comeback!
