On December 17, Paper, a US based magazine covering stories from the world of fashion and pop culture, released their top 50 songs of 2019, and Blackpink’s (unfortunately) latest bop “Kill This Love” found itself at the top of their list.
Even though the girls only had one comeback in 2019, that was all they needed to break some records and reach some very impressive numbers.
When “Kill This Love” MV was initially released, it broke the YouTube record for the most viewed music video in 24 hours, reaching almost 57 million views in the first day. Since then the MV has accumulated more than 680 million views, and they just keep coming.
The MV also managed to win three awards – Music Video of the Year at the People’s Choice Awards, and International Music Video of the Year and Boom Video of the Year at the BreakTudo Awards.
Let’s hope the girls’ next comeback will be even more successful!
