Blackpink’s Steamy Summer Sonic Performance

Blinks, they did it again! They absolutely killed their performance at the Summer Sonic festival in Tokyo, Japan today.

Yesterday we saw the girls in Osaka at the A-Nation series of summer concerts. A 300+ mile (that’s around 500 kilometers) trip did nothing to dull their enthusiasm on stage.

If you missed the live performance, you can watch it again here. Since the stream is so long, here’s a timetable of performances so you can try to navigate it better.

Blackpink started off strong – with their Japanese version of “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, background dancers and all. Then came the classic “Forever Young”. In our humble opinion, the girls’ vocals were absolutely on point in this song. To get the audience’s blood flowing a bit quicker, the girls followed that up with “Girls Wanna Have Some Fun” and they absolutely did. Just like yesterday, it was so good to see them having a blast on the stage.

The girls took a breather by interacting with the audience, which everyone absolutely loved, judging by the screaming coming from them. I mean, can you blame them?

Would any Blackpink concert be complete without “Stay” and “Whistle”? Of course not! Sadly, the stream switched to another artist during “Whistle” so we couldn’t see what happened next.

What’s next for the girls? Well, hopefully some rest and then a comeback, but first, they are expected to make a quick pit-stop at the MTV VMAs next week. Stay tuned for VMAs related content!
