Today (Nov. 30) the 11th annual Melon Music Awards took place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, and BTS turned out to be the biggest winners of the night.
In total the boys took home eight awards – Best Artist Award (alongside nine other artists), Netizen’s Favorite Artist, Best Dance (Male), Kakao Hot Star, and four daesangs – Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Artist of the Year, which makes them first group to win all daesangs at an awards show.
After these news additions, the boys now have an impressive 33 daesangs, and 24 MMA trophies – they are now the most awarded artist in the history of MMA!
Other members of the Big Hit family also have reasons to celebrate – TXT won New Artist of the Year (Male), the talented Pdogg won Best Songwriter, and Heize’s song “We Don’t Talk Together” produced by our very own musical genius Yoongi won Best R&B/Soul.
The boys were the last to perform, and what a performance that was! Those who thought that they reached their final form at last year’s MMA were in for a surprise of a lifetime. In slightly over half an hour, the boys performed five songs – “Intro: Persona”, “Boy In Luv”, “Boy With Luv”, “Mikrokosmos” and “Dionysus” – and each of them had a solo stage – Taehyung with “No More Dream”, Jin with “Danger”, Jimin with “I Need U”, Yoongi with “Fire”, Jungkook with “Save Me”, Hoseok with “Fake Love” and finally our leader Namjoon with “Dionysus”.
During all of their acceptance speeches the boys showed just how humble and grateful they still are – they promised us to work even harder in the upcoming year so that they can win more awards for us.
We really do stan amazing men!
