On September 25, SM Entertainment held a session at the 20th World Knowledge Forum in Seoul.
SM’s founder Lee Sooman and EXO’s Park Chanyeol both held a speech as part of the “What’s the next stage of K-POP: The Future of Techtainment” session, that started at 5:30 pm KST.
Chanyeol took the stage with EXO’s “Love Shot” playing in the background and to a round of applause from everyone in the Jangchung Arena. He then spoke on the power of Korean culture abroad.
We bring you a part of his speech (source: Naver) right here:
When I went on an overseas tour, I had the feeling once again that the power of culture is really strong. This time, I went to Bangkok for a concert and saw a fan, holding a banner written in Hangul, who said: “I’m learning Korean because of oppa.” I could feel the cultural impact through little things [like that].
Every time I feel like an influential person, I am so grateful… To Mr. Lee as well. That’s why I thought I should promote Korean culture more by believing in its infinite possibilities and working harder.
I want to be an artist who continues to work hard, make good music, and have a good influence.
His calm and composed demeanor impressed every single attendee of the WKF. We see a bright future for CEO Park!
Meanwhile, fans have been trending the hashtag SpeakerCHANYEOLxWKF for hours now. It is currently No. 4 worldwide on Twitter!
Congratulations to Chanyeol who made all EXO-Ls proud today!
