“EXO Planet #5 – EXplOration in Hong Kong” has officially ended, following two successful concerts at the packed AsiaWorld-Expo arena on August 10 and 11.
During the two concerts, “Nation’s Pick” EXO impressed the Hong Kong audience with their stunning performances and amazing production. The currently six-member group performed a total of 25 songs, including most of the tracks from the recent Don’t Mess Up My Tempo album and its repackage album Love Shot.
EXO started the concert with their hit song “Tempo”, followed by “Transformer” (from the Exodus album) and “Gravity”, before Baekhyun took over the stage with his extremely successful solo debut song “UN Village”.
Next, fans enjoyed the performances of “24/7”, “Love Shot” and “Ooh La La La”. Afterwards, Suho, Chanyeol, Kai, Chen, Baekhyun, and Sehun addressed the audience for the first time in their opening ment. They greeted EXO-Ls warmly, and Chanyeol showed off his fresh orange hair, dyed especially for the Hong Kong fans.
They also performed “Monster” (EX’ACT), “Been Through” (Universe Winter Album) – including Suho’s steamy solo – “Falling For You” (For Life Winter Album), “Wait” (Love Shot Repackage), and “Power” (The War: The Power Of Music Repackage).
Chen wowed everyone with his godly vocals singing “Lights Out” and EXO-SC got the crowd excited by performing “What a Life” and “Closer to you”.
Members of the maknae line also got their time to shine individually, with Kai‘s solo song “Time For Confession” and Sehun‘s dance break in “Damage”.
Naturally, no “EXO Planet” would be complete without the iconic “Growl” and “Overdose”. The boys now get to show off their more mature charms compared to 2013 and 2014 when these tracks came out, which makes each performance that much more enjoyable than the last. And, let me tell you, the hype in the arena for these songs was something else!
EXO finished the first part of the concert both days with the eternal bop “Call Me Baby”, after which EXO-Ls asked for an encore by loudly chanting “E-X-O! E-X-O!” and singing the chorus from “Don’t Go” (from the first album XOXO).
The final part of the “EXplOration in Hong Kong” included sweet songs “Unfair” and “On The Snow” – that the boys sang while riding carts very close to the audience – followed by EXO’s ending ment, the last song “Smile On My Face”, and final goodbyes to the fans who were definitely not ready for it all to be over.
In addition, at the end of Sunday’s concert we got a teaser from Suho himself; he said that EXO will return with a new album soon. So, keep an eye out for comeback news!
