Can you believe that “Click Clack Badda Bing Badda Boom” is three years old today?
On August 8 2016 YG Entertainment debuted their new girl group Blackpink and future Blinks officially met the girls in their two MVs that were released that day. Both absolute bops, “Boombayah” and “Whistle” launched Lisa, Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo into K-pop stardom. They became the fastest and only the third Korean artist to hold the two top positions on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.
Over the last three years the talented quartet came out with other hits, such as “Playing with Fire” and “Stay” from their second album, the single “As if It’s Your Last“, their biggest success “Ddu-du Ddu-du“, and most recently “Kill This Love“.
Thanks to “Ddu-du Ddu-du” they became the first female K-pop group to enter the Official Trending Chart in the UK. It was also the highest-rated Hot 100 hit by a female K-Pop group. Both “Ddu-du Ddu-du” and “Kill This Love” managed to break records for the most viewed online video in the first 24 hours. Listing all of their accomplishments in a reasonably long article would be impossible, so these will have to suffice.
The girls recently finished their extremely successful “In Your Area” world tour. Feeling down because you didn’t manage to see them live? Today also marks the release date of their “BLACKPINK 2018 TOUR [IN YOUR AREA] Seoul” DVD. Maybe that would cheer you up.
Blinks, did Blackpink come to your area? Did you see them live? Let us know down below!
