Today, August 29, JYP Entertainment held their annual trainee showcase “2019 JYPE Homecoming” at YES24 Live Hall in Seoul, and we got to see some of the agency’s new trainees.
JYPE’s potential future stars started the event with a group performance of Ciara’s 2018 hit “Level Up”, followed by 11 team performances of worldwide smash hits such as “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” by Shawn Mendes and “Bury A Friend” by Billie Eilish. Team China showcased their skills with their rendition of Taemin’s “Move”, while Team Japan covered TWICE’s recent Japanese single “Breakthrough”.
Finally, ITZY concluded the event with a powerful performance of “Dalla Dalla” and “ICY”. Can you believe that Yuna performed at the same event just last year, alongside current trainees Sieun, Mako, Haewon and Lily M, and now she is back as maknae of monster rookie group that holds 21 music show trophies?
One thing is for sure – JYP Entertainment definitely knows how to recognize talent when they see one! So, we are super excited to see which of the current trainees will get a chance to debut as ITZY’s hoobaes one day.
