Part 1 available here!
ATEEZ hit the stage following a dramatic intro video, which compiled all Treasure EP1: All To Zero teasers for each of the members, ending with the question: “What is your treasure?” on a plain black background. The eight-member rookie sensations showed up in all-white outfits, firstly performing their latest hit “WAVE” – and the crowd went wild! “Hakuna Matata ya” may be the best verse ever, don’t you think?
Afterwards, the boys addressed the audience, saying that L.A. holds a special place in their hearts because that’s where they kicked off their first “The Expedition Tour” back in March, that sold out in minutes, which was an incredible feat for a then 4-month-old group. Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho next performed “Dancing Like Butterfly Wings” (for which they filmed a performance video with ATINY in L.A. just a few days ago), “Say My Name” (with everybody at Staples Center yelling out the lyrics “ATEEZ present”), and, finally, the song with the jaw-dropping choreography – “HALA HALA”. You can get a taste of the atmosphere from the clips below! Rookies of the year, anyone?
Yunho and Honjoong held a VLive when they got back to the hotel, don’t forget to check it out!
Next up on stage was LOONA (*insert Orbits screaming here*). The girls started off with a dance intro, followed by the performance of “Butterfly” with the most aesthetically pleasing choreography we have seen in a long time. Afterwards, they covered boy group dances like BTS’ “Fire”, NCT 127’s “Cherry Bomb”, and SEVENTEEN’s “Thanks”, proving once again that girl groups can perform just as powerfully as boy groups. Their final song was the debut track “Hi High”, in which they can show off their cute and fresh charms. Check out clips from LOONA’s stage below!
SF9 showed off their manly charms performing the latest title track “RPM” (with blindfolds even!) as well as their previous hits “O Sole Mio”, “Now or Never” (featuring arguably the smoothest choreo ever), and “Play Hard”. As a special treat for FANTASY, main dancer Taeyang danced to Shawn Mendes’ and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita”, and Rowoon sang John Legend’s “All of Me”. We were swooning😍. Also, those black and white outfits with leather details were something else! Check them out below.
The 12 ladies of IZ*ONE looked beautiful in their red and white outfits, performing their hit songs “Violeta”, “Highlight”, “La Vie en Rose”, “Airplane”, and, of course, the mandatory “Pick Me” from Produce 48. Take a look at a snippet of IZ*ONE’s performance below! Their synchronization is on point👌
The final act of the night was NU’EST! JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren proved why they are considered a visual group by serving looks in black and white outfits, and showed off their stable vocals. We finally got to see Minhyun perform “Dejavu” with the rest of the group, and the boys also performed their 2016 hit “Love Paint” as well as the most recent title track “BET BET”. It was a good day to be a L.O.Λ.E, for sure! Check out NU’EST in action in the video below.
That’s it for night 1 of #KCON19LA! Which performance was your favorite?
