The November 6 episode of Mnet’s TMI News brought us TWICE and a brief summary of their record-breaking accomplishments.
After briefly addressing the buzz Momo’s forehead caused on Twitter back in September, the MCs focused mostly on the girls’ huge accomplishments in Japan.
After they made their Japanese debut in June of 2017, TWICE caused a craze among Japanese K-pop fans with their new single “TT” and its signature move that went viral in both Korea and Japan. The video also shows Tokyo Tower displaying the TT sign on TWICE’s Japanese debut first anniversary.
Next up we can see the famous photo of TWICE in a rented private jet. Back in January 2018, TWICE were invited to perform at NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen – iconic Japanese year-end song festival, which kind of overlapped with their schedules back in Korea. But fret not, JYPE rented a private jet for their hard-working group!
In the morning, after the “TT” rehearsal for Kōhaku Uta Gassen, TWICE flew back to Korea and performed at KBS’ Gayo Daechukje. Then right after their stage, the group flew back to Japan to prepare for their performance on NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen.
Lastly, the video shows the group’s record-breaking Dome Tour and their sold out L.A. concert. TWICE were the first K-pop girl group to hold a dome tour (they’ll perform again at Tokyo Dome in March 2020) which was followed by their ongoing “TWICELIGHTS” world tour.
