The queens of Japan strike again!
On December 23, Oricon Music published the 2019 list of best selling artists, and TWICE broke their previous record once again.
The girls’ sales totalled approximately ¥5.2 billion (~$48 million), making them the fourth best selling artist overall, and the top K-pop artist on the list.
With this, the group broke KARA’s previous record (2011) and became the best selling K-pop girl group in the Oricon charts history.
TWICE have shown significant growth in Japanese sales since their debut in the country in 2017, having earned approximately $14 million and $34 million in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
The girls are nowhere near stopping as they recently announced the release of &TWICE repackage album in February of 2020.
Congratulations to TWICE!
