Today, September 22, our cute bunny Nabongs celebrates her 24th* birthday! (*international age)

Although we are sure that the best possible gift she could get is the “Feel Special” MV that will be released tomorrow, we would like to use this opportunity to wish her all the best!

ONCE, did you know that September 15 marked nine years since Nayeon joined JYP Entertainment? Let’s take a look at how Nayeonie went from an ordinary high school student to become a member of one of the most popular girl groups worldwide.

September 15, 2010 was a turning point in Nayeon’s life. On that day, TWICE’s oldest member took part in JYPE’s 7th Open Audition and placed 2nd, earning herself a spot in the company’s trainee team.

2010–2011

Nayeon immediately stood out among trainees and was even known as JYPE’s “ace” trainee. That same year, she was also awarded Dean’s Award from Seoul Arts College and a SPRIS award that earned her a modeling contract. Soon, she also got a chance to see what filming a music video feels like. She appeared in San E’s “Please Don’t Go” in 2011.

Check out the MV below and you will understand why Nayeon was famous for her visuals even before SIXTEEN aired.

2012–2014

In 2012, Nayeon appeared in a famous TV drama Dream High 2 alongside her labelmates GOT7’s JB and Jinyoung and 2AM’s Jinwoon. In a short amount of time, Nayeon became well-known  in Korea, although she was still a trainee.

The following year, Park Jinyoung selected her as a member of 6MIX, the group that was supposed to debut as the label’s next girl group. Their debut plans, however, were canceled when two key trainees left the company.

In 2014, Nayeon again appeared in two of her labelmates’ music videos: GOT7’s “Girls Girls Girls” and Jun.K’s “No Love”

2015: SIXTEEN & TWICE

After almost five years of training and an unsuccessful debut project behind her, Nayeon was finally announced as TWICE’s first member on July 7, 2015. Park Jinyoung especially praised her for her hard work and perseverance during the trainee period. On October 20, TWICE debuted with “Like OOH-AHH” and the rest is history!

Happy birthday, Nayeon! 🎉 🎊
